Detoxing Your Body

If you are feeling sluggish, tired, have aches and pain, digestive problems, or just out of sync, it might be time to detox your body. Every day our bodies are being filled with toxins and chemicals from our environment. Chemicals, pollutants and hormones are found in all of the processed foods we eat and can lead to illness, depression and obesity.  Under natural circumstances, which our bodies have the proper nutrition in correct proportions, our body is able to detox many of the toxic substances safely.  Unfortunately, this is not the case in today’s world. Most people are taking in more toxins than the body can eliminate, which leads to illness, obesity, and diabetes.  This is because of the lack of nutrition and abundance of unwanted substances in the body. Detoxing can have beneficial effect on all systems of your body. This is why it is important to detox your body at least once a year.

Detoxing is resting, nourishing, and cleaning your body from the inside out.  When you detoxify your body you are cleaning your blood by removing impurities of blood in the liver which is where toxins are processed for elimination. A detox program will help the body naturally cleanse in a number of ways. It will rest the organs while you are fasting, stimulate the liver to get rid of toxins, improve circulation of the blood, and will help refuel the body with healthy nutrients.

Below are a few ways to help detox your body:

  •   Begin your detox on the weekend or at a time when you don’t have much going on.

  •    Drink at least 2 quarts of water a day!

  • Eat an abundance of fruits and vegetables.

  • Have no more than 2 proportions of grain each day, this could include brown rice, corn, and millet.

  •    Don’t have fish more than once a day.

  •   Have a handful of nuts a day.

  •  Try to avoid all wheat products, all meat and dairy products, fried foods, salts and spices.

  •  Take Vitamin C, it helps produce a liver compound to drive away toxins.

  •   Try to avoid stress.

  •   The most important way to help detox your body is by exercising. Walking everyday would be beneficial as well as doing Yoga. Try do exercise at least one hour every day.
